Founded over 40 years ago by its Chairman, Joseph J. Barnicke, the company continues to provide sound advice and superior customer service through more than 20 offices and over 300 sales professionals and consultants across Canada.

J.J. Barnicke Limited wanted to give their web site a fresh new look and feel. In doing so, they also wanted to replace the legacy content management system they were using and improve the response time of their site. The new solution would need to be able to support their new design as well as minimize the amount of work in migrating and integrating their existing content.




Jewish Family and Child

JF & CS

Jewish Family and Child Service is the Children’s Aid Society and social services agency for the Jewish community in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). 

Jewish Family & Child Service of Greater Toronto (JF&CS) wanted to give their web site a fresh new look and feel to be consistent with their ongoing re-branding effort. Since its inception, the web site had only been a small brochure-ware site, waiting for the development of the full-service web site. JF&CS had the following goals & objectives: 

  • Improve their communications with the community
  • Facilitate the process of registering for programs & services
  • Attract and recruit new volunteers 
  • Educate the public about the legal obligation to report child abuse
  • Offer the ability to make on-line donations 



Ontario Hospital Association

Since its inception in 1924, the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) has influenced and helped shape health care policy in Ontario, leading the way through changes, innovations, challenges and opportunities.

The Ontario Hospital Association wanted to give their web site a fresh new look and feel to be consistent with their recent re-branding effort. Since its original inception the web site had become a key communication tool used by the OHA to distribute information to its members. The existing web site had been launched in 1998 was a combination of public information and member’s only data. The web site was becoming increasingly difficult to administer and maintain as there was not any centralized content management, design control, or security.

Sceptre Investment Counsel Limited was incorporated in 1955 and became an independent investment counselling firm in 1971. Sceptre is one of Canada's oldest institutional fund managers and one of the few remaining independent investment managers.

Sceptre Investment Counsel Limited's (Sceptre) website, which was a modest web project established in 1997, was initially intended as an information source to their clients, prospective clients and investors. Unfortunately, the site had become unwieldy and had lost its focus with many sections buried and content difficult to find. The overall design was dated and no longer reflected the image Sceptre would like to project. Further, the content management platform was not flexible enough to incorporate some of the enhanced features Sceptre was interested in presenting on their new web site.

Schenker of Canada

Schenker of Canada is part of a worldwide company, with 1,100 locations in over 100 countries, with 50,000 employees worldwide and approximately 1,000 employees in Canada.

Schenker of Canada (Schenker) wanted to give their web site a fresh new look and feel to be consistent with their re-branding effort and to implement a content management system that would facilitate ongoing updates to the site.  The new solution would need to be able to support their new design and site re-orgainzation as well as integrate with other backend systems.  A key success factor of the project would be to ensure that the site could be maintained by the marketing & communications department and that IT would not be required to be involved on an ongoing basis.




University of New South Wales, Faculty of Medicine

Located in Sydney, the University of New South Wales (UNSW) is situated near the business hub of Australia's largest city. The UNSW is one of the leading teaching and research universities in Australia – renowned for the quality of its graduates and its commitment to new and creative approaches to education and research.

The University of New South Wales (UNSW)–School of Medicine needed to give their web site a fresh new look and feel. In doing so, they also wanted to replace the home grown content management system they were using for their current sites.  The new solution would need to be able to support their new design as well as  minimize the amount of work in migrating and integrating their existing content. They would then use the new web site as a template to update additional sites and deliver services via the web.
