We begin the process by developing the site’s look and feel, the flow of content throughout the site, the logical organization of the site’s information, and its functionality. Site Architecture
The site map is a large chart, the “blueprint”, which gives a visual depiction of the site’s architecture. It helps everyone visualize the relationship of the various site elements. During the actual project build it serves as an easy way to track progress on the project.
Supporting Deck
The accompanying deck describes the contents of each page and its function in enough detail so everyone has a clear understanding of what can be expected on any given page.
Wireframe Schematic
A wireframe schematic is useful to show which elements will appear on key pages. The wire frames are simple black and white diagrams that show relative positions of elements with short descriptions. This keeps the decision-making focused on the actual content, rather than visuals, colours, etc.
Graphic Design Concepts
Initial design concepts of one or more design options for 1 to 3 levels of the site are created in order to establish the overall look and feel for the site. Designs will show proposed navigation and integrated use of colours, fonts, graphics and photography. Comps will include headlines but no body copy. The number of design options and levels will depend on the project scope of work.
